Deciding to buy a rural Algarve property in the countryside
Before making a decision on whether to buy a rural Algarve property for sale, the following points should be carefully considered:
- Renovation costs - some Algarve quintas may be in need of renovation, costs will vary and can be high on the oldest properties. There may also be a waiting period for moving into the rural Algarve property while the renovation work is being carried out.
- Access and transport - Algarve quintas in remote locations means that owners will have to be much more self-sufficient than if they were within easy reach of town shops and services. A car may always be necessary.
- Maintenance and management - If the rural Algarve property will serve as a holiday home or rental property, it is worth checking if a management company will make the journey to look after the property and maintain the gardens.
